4 Types of Insurance You Can't Afford to Skip

No one likes to think about the worst-case scenario, but if you're not prepared for it, it can ruin you.  You may never need all of the coverage that comes with these 4 types of insurance, but you can't afford to skip over any of them!

  1.  An individual dental plan

Chances are your employer-sponsored health insurance doesn't cover dental services anymore.  But instead of paying all of your dental costs yourself, you can get the coverage you need with an individual dental plan.  These plans are relatively inexpensive, and they protect you from having to pay out a ton of money if you need major work done on your teeth.

As an added benefit, an individual dental plan will likely pay for all of your preventative care -- so you can go in for cleanings and routine x-rays, without worrying about how you're going to pay for it!

  2. An individual vision plan

Unfortunately, dental insurance isn't the only thing getting cut from many employer-sponsored health plans.  Look carefully, and you'll probably see that your vision coverage is gone, too!

Luckily, individual vision insurance works just like an individual dental plan.  You pay affordable premiums every month, and in exchange, get help paying for things like eye exams, contact lenses, and new glasses.

Plus, it's easy to bundle your individual vision insurance with your individual dental plan -- meaning you can save money on both of them!

  3. Senior life insurance

You may think that because you're retired, you don't need a life insurance policy anymore.  However, that's not the case!  You may not be bringing a paycheck home every two weeks, but your heirs are still counting on you not to leave them with a financial mess after you're gone.  The best way to prevent that from happening is to have a senior life insurance policy.
Senior life insurance is designed for people over 50, and it's perfect for covering the cost of your final expenses.  Typically, the payouts on these policies are lower than traditional life insurance -- which means you get to pay lower premiums.

  4. Medigap policies

If you're relying solely on basic Medicare coverage, you're in for a rude awakening.  If you ever get really sick or injured, you'll see that basic Medicare coverage comes with very low maximums -- that don't take long to reach.  If you don't have any kind of Medigap coverage, you'll have to pay for everything else out of your own pocket!

Medigap policies are easy to find and affordable.  With one, you can rest easy knowing that a serious illness or injury won't bankrupt you!
